NDU SC | MOBILE NETWORKS SEMINAR

The Faculty of Engineering at Notre Dame University-Shouf Campus hosted The Way to a Better Connected World seminar delivered by Mr. Ziad Zorkot, Network Quality and Planning Senior Manager at Touch, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

Mr. Zorkot addressed the mobile data growth and its impact on existing 2G/3G technologies. He presented and discussed the new mobile services including the Internet of Things (IoT). Mr. Zorkot emphasized the need for more capacity in mobile networks and capacity enhancing techniques, especially in the Lebanese market. He then discussed the development of LTE (Long Term Evolution) and 4G technologies as well as the new communication technologies such as LTE Advanced Pro and 5G.

The Electrical Engineering and Computer Communication Engineering students who attended the seminar expressed much interest in the topic and benefited from Mr. Zorkot’s wide and fruitful experience as he answered their many questions and queries.
